Sing Ho LAW

Student of City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong
Exchange to Murdoch University, Australia

From July 2013 to the end of that year, I have a memorable and meaningful exchange journey in Australia. This let me learn a lot of valuable knowledge and has widen my horizon. My host university is Murdoch University in Perth, Australia. Here I want to express my sincere gratitude to the Endeavour Cheung Kong Scholarship program for supporting me to realize all these things.

One of the Aussie culture's facets I love is the personality and the life attitude of Aussies. They are friendly to surrounding people in the community and also foreign visitors like me, for instance, bus drivers and passengers would greet each other as well as passengers would say thank you to drivers before they get off the bus. According to some research, it can be known Aussies generally are joyous compared with many other places worldwide. I could really feel it when I lived in Australia and was influenced by them. They have a close relationship with nature. They put a lot of effort in conserving the environment. During the exchange period, I have visited numerous spectacular natural environments that are very famous, for example, the Coral Bay. I get rare opportunity to have scuba diving there which allows me to closely appreciate the marine ecosystem.

Since I studied the bachelor degree about Policy Studies and Administration, one of the learning goals I set was to learn about the politics and policy of Australia. I joined a guided tour to visit the Parliament of the Western Australia. Australia owns a mature and effective system of governance that contains reference value.

The tertiary schools of Australia are popular study abroad choices for foreign students. I owned good chances to make friends with teenagers all over the world including Brazil. This means exchange not only offered me opportunities to understand Australia more, but also many parts of the world. I feel so grateful to exchange in Australia. It is dreamlike and unforgettable.
