Exchange to Bond University, Australia

This exchange experience to me is just like a dream. I am really glad and lucky to have this chance to study overseas. To me, going out to the other part of the world is always a dream. I'm happy that my dream really has come true and my first time travelling abroad is that much indelible and memorable. The academic exchange program to Australia is definitely the highlight of my entire university life. It enabled me to understand my major from different perspectives and expose myself to a totally different culture. I truly appreciate the Award awarded by the Cheung Kong Group and the Australian Government, which gave me a strong financial support and therefore the opportunity to explore Australia in depth.

When I was on my exchange on the Gold Coast, I chose renting a house of a local family instead of accommodation at the school campus, as I wanted to gain an in-depth understanding towards Aussie culture. People are so nice in Australia, it feels so good when you are living with them. They are always smiling and willing to help you, owing to this, I adapted to the new life here very soon. For now, I have already fallen in love with this pretty and friendly country.

Regarding my study, I found studying in Bond University quite fascinating. Most courses have both a lecture and tutorial class and this educational pattern is really different from that back in China. What's more, during the lecture, the teacher would like to use the pattern of case study, which is more interesting and get all the students involved in the class. When having discussions with classmates, I usually found myself inspired by their unique ideas.

In my spare time, I travelled to Melbourne, the first city I arrived in Australia because of my flight. Fortunately, I can have the chance to travel back to see and feel this city. I love that city as well because it is like the combination of modern and old arts, just like my hometown, Shanghai. Walking in the street and tasting the culture in Melbourne fascinates me a lot.

Everything is beautiful and peaceful in the city. I love Gold Coast and Australia from the bottom of my heart. I would like to thank Cheung Kong Group and the Australian Government for the support in providing me with the opportunity to get this unforgettable experience.
