Exchange to The Australia National University, Australia

It was a great opportunity that could study at Australia National University as an exchange student from China Academy of Art in 2015. Actually, it was the first time for me to have such overseas experience. On one side I was so appreciative for the valuable opportunity, however, on the other side I felt a great pressure cause I knew I am the first student who took the exchange program to Australia from my home university.

Fortunately, I enjoy the days in Canberra. Although the city was not very fashionable or passionate like other metropolises in Australia such as Sydney or Melbourne, it was a comfortable and peaceful place to let you immerse in study and slow down your pace to enjoy the real life.

The exchange school, Australia National University, was amazing. Teachers were very helpful and warmhearted to solve every shallow questions I asked and the courses I took was also different from what I had in my university. All courses divided in two parts, when we finished the lecture from our lecturers each weeks, we would have a tutorial lesson after that for students to discuss what they learned from lecture. At the beginning of studying, I was too shy to speak my own aesthetic opinion in the discussion. However, thankfully, with the help of my classmates and tutor, I finally build up the confidence and enjoyed each course I took.

It is worth mentioning that thanks to the Endeavour Australia Cheung Kong Awards, I could afford enough coffees for the examination weeks as well as took trips to other fantastic places in Australia. Carins was absolutely amazing and I achieved my first diving experience which impressed me a lot. The masterpieces in the museums and galleries were surprising and I was lucky to enjoy the two wonderful special exhibitions from the Scotland National Gallery and Russia's Winter Palace during that period.

At last, I must once again deliver my sincere gratitude to everyone who gave me a hand during my exchange time. I will never forget the experience and achieve my dreams by stepping into the future.
