The University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong
Exchange to The University of New South Wales, Australia

Exchange to Australia is one of the best things that has happened to me. I had so much fun in Australia, meeting new people, partying and traveling. Since I¡¦ve come back to Hong Kong, I can¡¦t stop telling people how great my exchange was, how cool the university was and how wonderful the country was.

Apart from working hard at the university, with the help of the Endeavour Australia Cheung Kong Scholarship, I was able to travel to the most amazing places in Australia. Almost every weekend during the semester, I would go out with friends and explore the scenery in and around Sydney. We¡¦ve been to the Blue Mountains, Hunter Valley and all the beautiful beaches and bays in Sydney.

During the semester break of the end of September, I booked 2 adventure tours and for the first time experienced ¡§the outback¡¨. I will never forget the nights we slept under the stars, the little chats with other backpackers around the camp fire, the beautiful sunset at Ayers Rock and the rocks which nearly broke my legs in Kakadu National Park. After 7 days of adventure, I traveled down to Brisbane and the Gold Coast to visit some old friends, then flew back to Sydney and finished my 10-day adventure.

The final examinations ended my academic study in Australia and it was also the start of another adventure. I first traveled down to Melbourne city and had lunch with a friend who was an exchange student from the University of Hong Kong. It was really a pity that I only had one day at the Twelve Apostles because I knew it would be much more fun if we could make it two. Then I joined another adventure tour in Tasmania ¡V we started our journey in Launceston and traveled along the east coast all the way down to Hobart.

Adding up the time I had in Brisbane when I was 10 years old, I had lived in Australia for two and a half years. Australia is my second home where I have felt the warmness of the people, seen the clear skies and enjoyed beautiful sunshine. I have never explored a country as much as Australia, not even China ¡V my home country. I love the white sands of the Whitsunday Islands, the beautiful lake on Fraser Island, Brisbane, the Sydney Harbour, the red rocks in the centre and the artworks of Aboriginal people up in the north of Australia. It is a shame that I did not have the time and extra money to visit Western and South Australia. But I¡¦ll leave that for the next time!
