Endeavour Australia Cheung Kong Awards Reception in Melbourne

  • 3 March, 2020 - Parliament House, Melbourne, Victoria
  • A reception was held at the Parliament House in Melbourne to honour the Endeavour Australia Cheung Kong Awards scholars. The reception was officiated by the Hon Daniel Andrews MP, Premier of Victoria; and Mr H L Kam, Group Managing Director of CK Infrastructure Holdings Limited.

The Hon Daniel Andrews delivered a speech to congratulate the awardees.

2018

Endeavour Australia Cheung Kong Awards Reception in Perth

  • 29 October, 2018 - Constitutional Centre, Perth, Western Australia
  • A reception event was held at the Constitutional Centre in Perth to celebrate the achievements of the Endeavour Australia Cheung Kong Awards scholars. The reception was officiated by Mr H L Kam, Group Managing Director of CK Infrastructure Holdings Limited, with the Hon Mark McGowan MLA, Premier of Western Australia, as a special guest.

Mr H L Kam encouraged the Asian awardees to take full advantage of the opportunities to enjoy Western Australia's beautiful environment and friendly atmosphere

  • A reception was held at the Government House in Adelaide to recognise the Endeavour Australia Cheung Kong Awards scholars. The ceremony was officiated by His Excellency the Hon Hieu Van Le AC, Governor of South Australia; and Mr H L Kam, Group Managing Director of CK Infrastructure Holdings Limited.

  • A reception was hosted by the Australian Embassy Beijing to celebrate the achievements of past and present Australian Endeavour Award holders, including Endeavour Australia Cheung Kong awardees, as well as China-based alumni of Australian universities. Dr Geoff Raby, Ambassador to China, provided the welcoming remarks. The Hon Julia Gillard MP, Prime Minister of Australia, and Mr H L Kam, Group Managing Director of Cheung Kong Infrastructure Holdings Limited, both gave speeches at the event.

Launch of the Endeavour Australia Cheung Kong Awards

  • The Cheung Kong Group and the Australian Government announced the launch of the Endeavour Australia Cheung Kong Awards at a signing ceremony at Parliament House in Canberra, Australia on 24 June, 2004.
  • The Hon Dr Brendan Nelson MP, Federal Minister of Education, Science and Training, and Mr H L Kam, Group Managing Director of Cheung Kong Infrastructure Holdings Limited, signed an agreement pledging mutual support for the Endeavour Australia Cheung Kong Awards through the provision of matching funds that total A$4.5 million over three years. The Hon Alexander Downer, Foreign Minister, also attended the ceremony and addresses were delivered by Mr Zhou Ji, the Chinese Minister for Education, and Mr Arthur KC Li, Hong Kong's Secretary for Education and Manpower.

Mr H L Kam, Group Managing Director of CKI (right) presented a souvenir to mark the occasion to the Hon Dr Brendan Nelson MP, Federal Minister for Education, Science and Training (centre) and the Hon Alexander Downer MP, Foreign Minister (left). The souvenir features calligraphy of a Chinese proverb that meaningfully translates into "Learning has no boundaries", reflecting the spirit of the Endeavour Australia Cheung Kong Awards.
