Tsetsenbileg MANALJAV

Student of Chonnam National University, South Korea
Exchange to Curtin University, Australia

The one semester I spent in Perth, Australia was truly marvellous. Among all the places I have ever been to, Western Australia had the most beautiful views. Since I was born and raised in a landlocked country (Mongolia), Aussie beaches were some of the most gorgeous things I have ever seen in my life. Despite the fact that I am a very poor swimmer and almost drowned a few times, I just could not keep myself away from those beaches.

Besides its astonishing nature, Australia has a very nice education system. Through its frequent "tutorial" classes, the university offered us numerous opportunities to discuss and practise the theories we learned during our lectures. Thanks to these classes I felt my academic English improved a lot.

Apart from those, the one thing that I miss most about Australia is the people that I met and became friends with during my stay. It was extraordinary to meet people from various cultures, speak with them in one language and make tons of unforgettable memories together in a foreign country. People say that the one thing they cannot find anywhere else other than in Australia is the impulsiveness to just hop in a car and go on a road trip somewhere nice with friends. And that is true, because I will always miss those spontaneous trips, rushing to beaches to see the sunset.

Lastly, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Cheung Kong Group and the Australian Government for granting me the Endeavour Australia Cheung Kong Awards and making my exchange experience the best five months of my life.
