LEE Kyu Hee

Student of Soonchunhyang University, South Korea
Exchange to Victoria University, Australia

Hi, I am Lee Kyu Hee from Seoul, South Korea.

It was my first time to go to Australia and everything was new to me.

At first, I was a little nervous that I did not even know how to take a tram. As time went by, it became my favorite public transportation tool. By taking tram in Melbourne, I can visit my friends' houses frequently and easily.

Melbourne's weather is famous for its unpredictability, but I loved it. Most of the time, the weather was windy. In this windy weather, I could just hang out with my friends around Melbourne and have a cup of coffee in the local coffee shop. By the way, my favorite Aussie coffee is Flat White.

There were quite a few festivals at Victoria University ("VU") and I enjoyed them. One of the festivals was called "Winter O'Fest" and I got to know VU's International Coordinator Ms. Kan at that festival. She kept taking care of me until the end of my exchange programme and she introduced some of the Aussie cultures that I did not know before. Moreover, one of the good things about VU is that it has 6 campuses and it means that I can go to any campus library to study whenever and wherever I want.

Since Melbourne is a multicultural city, I made friends who were from Thailand, Hong Kong, and Germany. I was glad that we were all extroverts and we travelled a lot around Melbourne. Also, we participated in some of the universities' events together such as special lectures from VU's alumni. I already miss my friends a lot and I wish to meet them in their home countries in the future.

Through ECKSEP scholarship, I had a great opportunity to be a part of the culture in Australia and I hope other Korean students who would like to study abroad apply for the exchange programme to Australia as well.
