Exchange to Monash University, Australia

I am a third-year student from Fudan University. Luckily, I had the chance to go on study exchange to Monash University for one semester. Now I have been here for almost three months. Thinking back, I have quite a lot of thoughts to share.

Firstly, the learning experience here is quite different from that in China. I have ten subjects every semester in my home university, compared to three or four at Monash University. However, I feel I am spending more time studying here. The main reason is that most of the subjects I took involved pre-class online lessons, quizzes, lectures, tutorials, and post-class activities. Unlike my home university, here I learnt before class, then I put what I have learnt into practice during tutorials or lectures. This enabled me to have a better understanding of my subjects; and so far I achieved HD in all my assignments.

Secondly, life here is more exciting. In the universities in China, almost all the students live on campus. Here, those who live on campus make up only a small portion of the total student population. Going to classes is only a small part of university life. There also gym, social events, work, and many other extracurricular activities. I now go to gym three times a week, belong to a club and take part in various activities.

Thirdly, the study exchange gave me the chance to explore Australia. I always believe in studying hard and playing hard. On weekends, I would hang out with friends and travel around Melbourne. During the mid-semester break, I went to Cairns and the Gold Coast, and tried scuba-diving, skydiving and surfing first time in my life. For me, these are life-changing experiences.

I am really grateful to Fudan University and Monash University for giving me such an amazing opportunity to study abroad. I am also grateful to CK Infrastructure for giving me the means to lead an easier and better life here.
