Exchange to The University of Queensland, Australia

The academic exchange programme to The University of Queensland ("UQ") was definitely one of the highlights of my university life. It allows me to better understand my own identity by exposing myself to a culturally diversified environment where I got to interact with people from different backgrounds and beliefs. It has improved my communication and interpersonal skills, which are essential for my future career development.

Australia welcomed me with its friendliness and hospitality, people there were helpful and extremely easy to talk to. It was usual for you to chat with, or even exchange life stories with a stranger on the street. This experience is important to me as it improved my communication skill.

Moreover, UQ also offered amazing courses specially catered for exchange students, to bring us to some of the best islands and national parks in Australia. There were also many clubs and societies that often organised road trips to visit different places with breathtaking views. They showed us how spectacular and magnificent Australia is, with the stunning sceneries and rich variety of flora and fauna. I was constantly overwhelmed with the sandy beaches with beautiful sunset and a wide variety of species that is native to Australia such as dingo, kangaroo and koala.

I have really enjoyed my time during my exchange as I have made many friends from different countries and improved myself in many ways. Also, I would personally like to express my gratitude to Cheung Kong Group and the Australian Government for presenting me with the Endeavour Australia Cheung Kong Awards which had been tremendously helpful to support me and make everything possible.
