Hi my name is Jessie and I study a Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Sydney. I went on exchange in Fall 2015 to the Guanghau School of Management at Peking University, Beijing.

I desired to go to China so that I could learn more about my cultural background as well as represent the culture I grew up in.

I would like to express my gratitude to the Australian Government and Cheung Kong Infrastructure Holdings for the Endeavour Scholarship that made this experience possible.

The things I learnt on exchange are impossible to learn in a classroom, especially in a country like China where the culture is so rich and diverse. I was able to socialise with some of the brightest minds in China as well as a very impressive cohort of exchange students from the top business schools around the world.

I learnt firsthand how different societies come up with different solutions to solve the same problem and I was able to greatly improve my cross cultural communication skills. I am excited to say that I have finally joined the ranks as a global citizen!
