I was very fortunate to receive the support of CKI Holdings Ltd to help me in achieving my goal of studying economics and finance at the University of Hong Kong in 2016.

Having a strong passion for business and investment, I wanted to study in the rapidly expanding Asia Pacific region. The Hong Kong SAR was the perfect location for me due to its role as a financial powerhouse in the region and the world economy. While studying here it has been extremely rewarding to develop an understanding of the markets in Greater China through its highest ranking educational institution.

While learning under the guidance of some incredible professors, I have also been able to develop a familiarity with the local lifestyle and culture. Local students have largely been hospitable to me here and joining in with life at my hall of residence has been exciting and unique. The friendships I have built during my time here will be an intangible gift that I will keep after my return to Australia.

I believe that capital market interaction between China and my home country will continue to grow in future years as we share in the productive expertise that each of us hold and in the subsequent benefits to our consumers, investors and workers. With hope, I may one day play a small role in the development of these relationships and the positive effects that they have for people in both countries.

The scholarship that I have been allocated has been a huge assistance in allowing me to undertake this experience and my time in Hong Kong will be of immense benefit as I work toward a career in the capital market arena. I am extremely grateful to all those at Cheung Kong Infrastructure that have continued to support students like myself and have taken an ongoing interest in the mutual benefit of building economic and social ties within our advancing region.
