Exchange to The University of Melbourne, Australia

I was very fortunate to receive Endeavour Australia Cheung Kong Awards, with the support of which I had sufficient financial resources to enjoy my exchange life in the University of Melbourne, and to wander around and feel Australia.

I come from Mainland China, and went to Hong Kong for higher education, attracted by the high quality, international horizon and various opportunities available in Hong Kong. Consequently, it was reasonable for me to take such a chance to exchange in Australia, and to experience the exotic environment there. Apart from spending the majority of time in Melbourne, I visited Sydney, Canberra, Hobart and Ayers Rock. It has become a common sense that the world is under globalization. Visiting those places and meeting the friendly and hospitable people there provided me with an opportunity to be exposed to different cultures and helped me gain experience of dealing with any potential problems in terms of teamwork. It is smoother for me to handle the relationship to those from different cultures after I came back from Australia. Apart from learning the advanced knowledge, it is also valuable to share opinions with those from different cultures.

However, I would have been disturbed severely by financial problems and had no resources to wander around Australia if I had not been provided with the award from Cheung Kong Group. In Hong Kong I have heard many times of how the Group is devoted to education. Many buildings and scholarships are sponsored by the Group! This time I directly benefited from the generosity of the Group. Grateful of the help that I received, I will also contribute to the development of education, just like the deed of the Group.
