When thinking about the past one year, the feeling of happiness and gratefulness comes to my mind. During my exchange year, I choose to go to another university overseas instead of staying in my homeland. I am really appreciative for the Endeavour Australia Cheung Kong Awards program, which gave me the chance to live in Australia.

When I entered Australia, the people I met first were my flat mates. I lived in a flat with eight others. What a coincidence, each of us was from one unique country. When we got familiar with each other, we set aside every Thursday as our family day. On that day, one of our flat mates would cook dinner for all of us. We were so lucky that we could taste so many different meals.

When I chat with my Australian local friends about study, work, marriage etc, I find that part of my view of life has changed gradually. I grew up in Mainland China. Due to the large population, the competition among peers is quite fierce. I was told to work hard and fight for a successful life. But in Australia, I find out that to be happy and to make others happy is the best honor someone could get during their life. Everybody is kind and patient. They enjoy every
single moment of their life.

When it comes to breaks, without doubt, I travelled with my friends. In the rainforest, the wetlands and the green islands are also charming. I also took photos with a lot of unique Australian animals.

I am so grateful for the exchange experience I got. Thanks to it, I saw a different world, I made a lot of friends, I learnt countless things I didn’t know about in my homeland. I wish more and more students could have exchange chances - to go out and enjoy living in a new world.
