I am so lucky to be granted an exchange opportunity to South Australia, a very wonderful place and I feel greatly honored to be awarded the Endeavour Australia Cheung Kong Awards scholarship. It has greatly supported my life here in Australia. With the scholarship, I have received more opportunities to broaden my vision, widen my mind and be involved in this new environment.

I had always dreamed about studying overseas, of experiencing foreign cultures and enriching my life. Along with my tertiary education, I put much effort into English and cross-cultural studies and additionally chose English as my major at my home university. When the exchange opportunity became available, I grabbed it without any hesitation. However, I then realised that there were still lots of expenses, even though I did not have to pay the tuition fee. When I was in the middle of the dilemma of whether I should do it or not, I was informed that I had been lucky enough to be awarded the Endeavour Australia Cheung Kong Awards scholarship. My family and I were very excited and grateful.

I greatly value the honour which the Cheung Kong Group and the Australian Government bestowed on me, so I cherish every day I have spent here. Australia is the most ideal country I have ever dreamed of - a beautiful environment, nice people, a cozy lifestyle and convenient facilities. I enjoy studying and living here. I thought I would miss home badly, but I did not. Teachers and friends here give me lots of warm help and care so that things are just like at home.

During the seven months I have been here, I have not only enjoyed a happy life in South Australia, but also travelled to other places like Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria. It is the Endeavour Australia Cheung Kong Awards programme that has made this possible. It has opened more windows for me to see, touch and feel this lovely country.

The Endeavour Australia Cheung Kong Awards scholarship promotes understanding and exchange between two countries. Besides, it helps many young people to realize their dreams. To some extent, the Endeavour Australia Cheung Kong Awards programme is more than a scholarship; it may even have the ability to change one’s life.

I want to say thank you to the Endeavour Australia Cheung Kong Awards programme and may it have a brilliant future.
