My name is Tu Zhiming, from Huazhong University of Science & Technology. I would like to thank the Endeavour Australia Cheung Kong Awards for supporting me to conduct research at Flinders University in 2005. 6 months was not a long time, but it gave me very good memories of Adelaide, South Australia. I like the city of Adelaide, especially the fountain in the city, even if the city is not as big as our city in China.

I cannot forget when we drove my old secondhand car to the countryside to visit a river and a bridge. I had a very happy time at Flinders Medical Centre where I learnt many things and I must thank Professor Greg Barritt of the Department of Medical Biochemistry who supervised my study there - he is a very kind gentleman and I cannot forget the help he gave to me.

Australia is an attractive country to me; I loved the beautiful land and the friendly people. I have been to Australia twice, the first time I went to Sydney, and studied at Sydney University for 2 years from 1999 to 2001. I miss the square building and the library of Sydney University where I spent a lot of time. I miss the lawn of the campus and the park. I used to walk through the park and often lay down there reading, chatting, playing, and dreaming. It is so beautiful and will stay deep in my memory. I also miss Darling Harbour, close to Chinatown. I often went there for shopping. I can not forget Balmoral beach, Manly, and many other beaches around Sydney, I enjoyed the sunshine and swimming there. The most famous site is the Opera House where I spent 2 New Year’s Eves with my friends watching fireworks. I often went to the Botanic Gardens with friends to observe the Harbour Bridge and Opera House and take some photos. It is really a beautiful site.

I love Sydney! I love Adelaide! I love Australia! I hope I can go back there with my family in the future. I would like to meet more Cheung Kong awardees and hope we can help each other. My email: tuzhiming9@sina.com
