Exchange to Australia was definitely one of the life-changing experiences in my life, especially being a successful recipient of the Endeavour Australia Cheung Kong Scholarship. I would like to thank the Cheung Kong Group for this scholarship which has helped a lot in subsidizing my exchange life at the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS).

Sydney is the most popular area in New South Wales – the most beautiful metropolis in Australia and the most multicultural city in the world. From the urban structure and the economy, to the entertainment and performing arts, I was totally amazed by her lovely culture. What impressed me the most were not only the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Opera House, but also all the friendly and amiable Aussies. Without any discrimination to me as an Asian exchange student, Australians are just like a group of positive enzymes that speed up and beautify my life in Sydney.

Studying business at UTS, with a different academic approach to education as compared with Hong Kong, has greatly enhanced my flexibility in learning. Self-learning and independent exploration of different kinds of information were exactly what I “learnt to learn” in the tutorials, seminars and lectures on campus. Besides, the teachers there were very nice and helpful, and always encouraged me a lot to enjoy my time in Australia. Nevertheless, from the bottom of my heart, I really enjoyed not only learning during classes, but also self-studying after classes. Given the usefulness of the information and knowledge delivered to me during my life in UTS, I am sure that all of it would be helpful to my further studies and my future career.

This overseas experience has contributed to both my academic progress and, more importantly, personal development. By communicating to different types of people in Australia, it improved, obviously, my speaking in English, and also my interpersonal skills and social techniques as well. Personally, I think they are absolutely essential to me as they would inspire me to life-long learning and help enhance my competitiveness upon graduation.

Broadening my horizons by going on exchange for 5 months was just like a golden rainbow in my life. By traveling to Melbourne, Canberra, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Cairns, Darwin, Alice Springs and Adelaide after the final examinations, I really appreciated how sweet and gorgeous Australia is. Actually, she is a great place for traveling and relaxing, just like a gas-station which refills your energy and, of course, she always welcomes you!

Now, Australia has become my home away from Hong Kong, a special place in the bottom of my heart forever. I would like to recommend this kind of interesting and meaningful exchange programme, as well as the Endeavour Australia Cheung Kong Scholarship Programme, to my fellow classmates and friends.

After this valuable opportunity to be one of the exchange undergraduates at UTS through the Cheung Kong Scholarship Programme, I feel like I am well prepared and equipped to overcome any barriers or difficulties in the rest of my life. Once again, I would like to thank the Cheung Kong Group for this scholarship which has helped a lot in subsidizing my exchange life. Thank you very much!
