G’day! I cannot begin to tell you how amazing Australia is and how much I enjoyed my exchange. I have always heard good words about Down Under and I reckoned it was time for me to check it out. I went to the University of Technology, Sydney in the Australian winter of 2008. What struck me most was the fact that Australian students were really active in participating in class discussions while us Honkies might be a bit timid in that regard. Of course there is more to life than study, especially when you are in such a place as awesome as Australia. It would be a crime not to travel and explore the country. The landscape along the Great Ocean Road is just breathtaking and I camped out in the desert, sleeping under the stars in the Outback with fellow exchange students. Did I mention the Australian hospitality? Everyone is so friendly and I even mastered the art of greeting “G’day, mate” in an Aussie accent. All these would not have been possible without the generous Endeavour Australia Cheung Kong Scholarship Programme which practically funded my spring break trip and more! So what are you waiting for?
