Kwan Yi Chu, Connie The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong I am Connie Chu, a PhD student from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. I am so glad to have been given the opportunity for exchange to Australia awarded by the Endeavour Australia Cheung Kong Scholarship Programme. During the exchange, I worked in the Endocrine cell biology group led by Professor C Chen of the Prince Henryˇ¦s Institute. I worked with people from all over the world and I had a great time with them! We learnt different languages and cooking from each other, and of course I learnt some important techniques for scientific research from them! Melbourne is such a beautiful and exciting city. I have so many unforgettable experiences from there. I also experienced my first Chinese New Year overseas ˇV there were so many people in Chinatown joining in the dragon dances and the shows. In fact, there were plenty of festivals in Melbourne, which provided a lot of outdoor performances that I have never seen before. I had so much fun! After a half year of work, I had the opportunity to share my research with other scientists at the 1st Australia-China Biomedical Research Conference held in Melbourne on 1st ˇV 3rd February, where I met some students from China who were also studying in Australia.
